Food options

There is no canteen in MAX-IV serving food, but a fully equipped user kitchen is available if you want to buy from a supermarket and prepare your own meals.

Vending machines

There are several vending machines on-site (credit card operated). Some offer just candy and soda, but several offer fresh salads or frozen meals. For the best selection, go to the main kitchens on the top floor of the main entrance building.

Coffee

Coffee, tea and hot chocolate is free from machines all around the lab. A few machines use fresh milk and are shut down over the weekend, the rest are available 24/7.

Supermarkets

There are two supermarkets within a 15min walk of MAX-IV: Willys on Magistratevagen (1.3km) and Hemköp Brunnshög (1.1km). Both are open 0700-2200 every day.

If you arrive to Lund by train, you will also have a chance to stop in at ICA Kvantum Malmborgs, next to central station (06-23 every day)

Food trucks

Often a food truck will come to MAX-IV between 1130-1300 to offer lunch. The schedule is usually available at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089374308506 (not accessible from the firewalled beamline computers)

A truck is permanently stationed across the street from MAX-IV (“Dagens lunch 50”) offering falalfel and kebab (open 11-14)

The major online delivery company in this area is foodora.se. The address to use for MAX-IV reception is Fotongatan 8. You will need to make an account, and depending on the restaurant you might need google translate to read the menu.
